It is famous around the world and it has won many awards for its flavour and quality. Also, Greek farmers export this type of potato in many countries which means that it offers a very important profit for the Greek economy. The potato of Nevrokopi is famous mostly for its quality. Also, the weather conditions of the area offer the most ideal environment for the potato to grow. The harvest of the potato usually takes place in November.
