On the 22nd November 2024, our school visited an olive oil factory in Serres. They informed us the stages of olive oil production.

When the producers bring the olives to the factory, they first weigh them, then they wash them and then, they separate the leaves from the olives. After the separation, the factory workers apply the olives in the pressing machine. At the final stage of olive oil production, the oil is coming out of the pressing machine, and it is being placed in bottles. Finally the olive oil is ready for use.

Our trip there was very exciting, and all the students were very happy because they learned about a very common product that all the Greek families use everyday in their houses.

Being in London is an exciting experience that will make your trip unforgettable. You will have the opportunity to visit a number of museums and attractions as well as beautiful shops and restaurants. Here you will find some great ideas for your vacation.

1) The Tower of London: This thousand-year-old fortress is located in front of river Thames and was built by the Normans as a place of prison and torture for many years. Nowadays, the crown jewels and other valuable items are kept.

2) British Museum: It is a museum of human history and culture. It includes more than 7 million objects from all over the world such as the Parthenon marbles and the Egyptian Rosetta Stone.

3) Big Ben: Big Ben is one of the most famous British symbols. This famous clock tower is 96 meters tall and was established in 1859. It uses its original mechanism and was the largest and most accurate four faced clock in the world upon its completion.

4) Natural History Museum: In this beautiful building you will find more than 70 million specimens of natural history. Dinosaurs, whales and other wild animals will “come to life” in front of you. You will also have the opportunity to experience conditions of strong earthquakes!

5) Buckingham Palace: Perhaps the most famous palace in the world, it is the King’s official London residence, the home of every British monarch. It is a marvelous building and you can also watch the Changing of the Guard almost every day.

6) Hyde Park: After visiting Buckingham Palace you can enjoy a walk in Hyde Park. This huge park is the best way to relax from London’s noisy streets. It has lakes where you can do activities like canoeing, you can have picnic on the grass or, if you are lucky, you can watch a concert of famous singers!

7) London Eye: You definitely can’t leave London without experiencing the London Eye. On this observation wheel you will have the opportunity to see the British capital from 160 meters high where the view is amazing!

8) Covent Garden: The Covent Garden is a shopping area with handmade products like leather bags, fabrics and jewels. There are also 13 theatres and over 60 pubs, bars and restaurants (have in mind that a reservation is required because it is always very crowded).

9) Trafalgar Square: This famous historic square with the beautiful fountains and the Nelson’s Column guarded by four sculpted lions is a destination that you can’t miss. During Christmas time a tree is decorated with lights and celebrations take place with Christmas carol singing and other events.

10) Oxford Street: If New York has the 5th Avenue and Paris the Champs Elysees, then London has the famous Oxford Street! In one of the most famous avenues in the world you can find thousands of shops and malls where you can buy luxury items for you and presents for your loved ones. Relax and enjoy your shopping but… make sure to keep some money for your return!!!

If you want to live like a real Londoner follow these tips and you won’t regret it!!!
