End-of-year event for “Arts Quest”

On June 4th, 2019 the 4th Graders presented the cultural eTwinning project “Arts Quest” to friends, family, schoolmates and teachers. The children had prepared a complete report of the project activities which was also accompanied by a powerpoint presentation. After telling the audience about the the four main activities on architecture, music, painting and cinematography, the children acted out the cooperative story they had written with their partners. The dramatization was partly in Greek and partly in English.

eTwinning’s birthday

The eTwinning European Action that our school has been participating since its inception celebrates its 14th year this year. Students of all classes of our school sang to us about the eTwinning birthday in English and also their own adaptation of Greek birthday song suitable for the occasion.

With the third and last visit of the engineers of 1st Drapetsona Vocational School, Mr. Kyriacou Kourentzi
 and Mr. Stylianos Moschonissiotis, the workshops that took place in the 10th Dim. Ilioupoli
 School for Students and Students in the eTwinning project "Robo-code". The children had the
 opportunity to get acquainted with Edison and use it in conjunction with barcodes 
(Edison & barcodes), plan Edison (Lab 2: Edison & Scratch) and plan it after adding gears and
 shafts (Workshop 3 : Gears, transmission & rotation. In the 2nd Lab, the children presented 
Edison and their programming to their colleagues, pupils of a Polish school.

eTwinning STEAM festival

In the multipurpose hall of the 10 Elementary School of Ilioupoli, the eTwinning steam festival was held where children from all classes presented various experiments related to the eTwinning projects that they held during the year. The 5th class presented experiments related to arduinos and the edison.

Each class presents 1-2 movies which are extremely popular in their country. For example, the Lithuanians will present two Lithuanian speaking movies the Lithuanians like a lot or a Lithuanian speaking movie that was awarded an Academy Award (Oscar) or had some other important recognition.

eTwinning STEAM festival

On May 14th, 2019 we had our very own eTwinning STEAM Festival at the Events Hall of our school. Inspired by their eTwinning projects, the 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th Graders had prepared a series of demonstrations of different Science and Technology experiments. All the grades visited the premise and watched the demonstrations.

The 5th Graders demonstrated the new knowledge they had acquired with reference to robotics by working on Arduino and Edison.

Meeting with the Polish

In this meeting the Greeks and the Polish learnt about the robot Edison.They had to keep notes.They also showed to the Polish how to program the robot through scype.They learnt a lot about Edison and the Polish.Τhey learnt how it works and how to program it and they realy liked it.

In the school year 2018-2019 the 5th graders of the 10th Helioupolis primary school is working on the eTwining project Robo-code supported by the class teachers,Basilis Kouliouba and Aristea Dafou.The theme of the project is robotics.The Greek pupils cooperate with children from Poland materialize the project in different subjects (Greek language,foreign language and physics)

The 2nd Graders’ performance about happiness

On Monday, June 10th, 2019 the 2nd Graders of the 10th Helioupolis Primary School presented the eTwinning project “Be gr8ful” the children and their teachers, Ms Irene Pouli and Ms Christina Katsiari, had been working on since November 2018. The children informed their families, their fellow school mates and the teachers who attended the event that the project, based on an idea contributed by the school’s Special Teacher, Ms Belitsou, was meant to make them acknowledge happiness in their life, feel grateful and empathetic and move a step forward by producing happiness in the lives of others as part of this innovative social entrepreneurship project.

The 2nd Graders participated in cross-curricular activities with children of the same age from Turkey and the Czech Republic. At the end-of-year event they organized, they sang ‘The Ode to Joy” and acted out two short theatrical plays guided by Ms Theodoropoulou, the Music teacher and Ms Baroutaki, the Drama teacher respectively.
