So. our students organised an exhibition that hosted both paintings and constructions made under the instruction of the Technology teacher, Kokoliou Frosso and the Arts teacher, Kafentaraki Despoina. The exhibits were impressive. Congratulations on your work and we hope to see similar works next year!

The children of the island after the morning church go from house to house holding wooden crosses decorated with rosemary, violets, roses, lilies and poppies and singing the carols of Maundy Thursday.

Holy Friday

In Skiathos, Holy Friday is a day of mourning and the custom requires the locals not to put a single bite in their mouths, and they also do not shake hands when meeting. Τhe Epitaph Procession begins at 1 after midnight, while the epitaph procession will begin at 4 am. the litany will pass through all the cobbled streets of Chora, between the illuminated houses. When the procession returns to the church at about 5:30 in the morning, everyone will stand in front of its closed door for the reenactment of the Lord’s Descent into Hades, with the presbyter shouting «Arate Pylas» and pushing the door hard.

Holy Saturday

The dawn of Holy Saturday finds the faithful returning to their homes. In a few hours they will go back to the church for the Liturgy of the First Resurrection. The bells will ring jubilantly to spread throughout the island the victory of life over death, while the priest blows the faithful with bay leaves, a symbol of victory and triumph.

Οn the feast of St. George, who is the patron saint of the Equestrian, the etiquette calls for horse races to be organized at the festival held in the chapel of St. George. The matches take place in the lake near the chapel and are watched by a large number of people

OUR SCHOOL HAS GOT MORE THAN 20 CLASSES AND ITS NOT VERY SMALL! THE STUDENTS ARE 300! THE SCHOOLYARD IS NOT THAT BIG BUT ITS OK! In my school we have many clubs like walking club, traditional dances, theater and many more. Βut my favorite club is the French one. There we make and try french recipes, watch french movies and make constructions. Also some other times we play kahoot, a game with questions on the mobile phone. It is very funny. This time, we are preparing a presentation in which we will present what we have been doing for so long. I think it will be very nice.

Το συγκεκριμένο περιοδικό έχει ως στόχο να αναδείξει τα ταλέντα των μαθητών/τριών όπως αυτά αναπτύσσονται  και εκδηλώνονται μέσα στο σχολικό περιβάλλον. Τα άρθρα γράφτηκαν αποκλειστικά στα Αγγλικά ως μία προσπάθεια ανάπτυξης επικοινωνιακών και άλλων δεξιοτήτων στις ξένες γλώσσες. Οι μαθητές/τριές μας προσπάθησαν να αρθρογραφήσουν για θέματα που σχετίζονται με την ζωή στο σχολείο αλλά και να καταγράψουν έθιμα του τόπου τους.

Ελπίζουμε να κρίνετε την προσπάθεια αυτή θετικά αλλά και με επιείκεια αφού οι  «αρθρογράφοι» μας έδωσαν τον καλύτερό τους εαυτό!

Ας ελπίσουμε ότι η προσπάθεια θα συνεχιστεί και την επόμενη σχολική χρονιά, με μεγαλύτερο ζήλο και συμμετοχή από τους μαθητές/τριές μας.
