Protecting Our Seas

On Wednesday, 15 January, students from our school participated in a highly engaging educational activity approved by the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP). The activity was delivered by Tech Talent School under the title “Protecting Our Seas.”.

This workshop is one of the thematic areas of the Erasmus+ programme “Protect Your Nature, Protect Your Future.” It offered an excellent opportunity for students to become familiar with citizen science, a modern approach that enables the public to contribute directly to scientific research. Through hands-on activities, students learned how they can actively participate in collecting data related to marine pollution and the condition of marine ecosystems.

This experience strengthened students’ environmental awareness, developed their collaboration and problem-solving skills, and introduced them to innovative tools and technologies. Through their participation, students realised that as active citizens, they can be part of the solution in protecting our environment and our seas.

We were delighted to have our school’s Pedagogical Advisor, Ms. Pantelopoulou, with us during the implementation of this activity!

We would also like to express our sincere thanks to the A.C. Laskaridis Public Benefit Foundation and Socialinnov, who donated an educational kit (a Micro:bit and a pH sensor) to our school upon completion of the programme, enabling us to continue collecting data and studying the coastal ecosystem of our area.
