Latvia – C3 Mobility
Rīga–Jelgava, 2–7 March 2025
The third mobility of the Erasmus+ project “Protect Your Nature, Protect Your Future” took place in Rīga and Jelgava, Latvia, from 2 to 7 March 2025, featuring activities that combined environmental education with creativity, music and experiential learning.
Participants by Country
- Greece: 17 students & 4 teachers
- Türkiye: 5 students & 3 teachers
- Germany: 2 teachers
- Latvia (host school): 10 students & 6 teachers
Weekly Activities
Water Quality Experiments & Biodiversity Studies
Fieldwork in lakes, rivers and forests, including hands-on activities at Liepāja ZIIC and the Nature House, where students examined wetland ecosystems and local flora and fauna.
Visit to Ķemeri National Park
Workshops on invasive/alien species, followed by an educational hike along the Swamp Trail, linking ecology with real-world environmental challenges.
Recycling – Reuse – Upcycling
Creative STEAM workshops combining recycling, environmental art, music and theatre, helping students express climate messages through interdisciplinary activities.
Cultural Visits & Intercultural Exchange
Exploration of Rīga and Jelgava, joint presentations, and traditional dance sessions promoting intercultural understanding and European identity.
Green Clean Monday – Sustainable Nutrition
A collective cooking activity of plant-based fasting dishes, used as a starting point for discussions on sustainability, food waste reduction and mindful consumption.
Results
- Students strengthened their knowledge of ecosystems and developed collaboration, communication and digital literacy skills.
- Teachers exchanged methodologies for outdoor learning and interdisciplinary approaches.
- The cooperation between schools and local organisations was significantly enhanced.
- The mobility supported the dissemination of learning outcomes within the wider school communities.
