Easter in Germany, by Danai

Easter in Germany is something fun for children. On that day, the Easter Bunny hides the colorful eggs, and the children will then search to find them.

The egg is also a basic decorative element for the Easter fountains. The residents of these areas all decorate the fountains together, with eggs and flowers, putting original designs on them. Also, the fountains are parts of the Easter days.

In the northern regions of Germany, the custom of the Easter fire or the Easter wheel is also found. They also set fire to an old oak wheel filled with straw and let it roll down to the end of the slope. If it reaches the end of the slope without being damaged, then the harvest will be good.

Like every holiday, Easter is also characterized by typical traditions such as Easter bread, fish on Good Friday and lamb on Easter Day.
