Eleven books to read during Covid-19

1.     Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone by J. K. Rowling

 2.     The Diary of a young Girl by Anne Frank

Synopsis: In 1942, with the Nazis occupying Holland, a thirteen-year-old Jewish girl and her family fled their home in Amsterdam and went into hiding. For the next two years, until their whereabouts were betrayed to the Gestapo, the Franks and another family lived cloistered in the “Secret Annexe” of an old office building. 7.     Lord of the Rings ‘The Fellowship of the ring’ by J. R. R. Tolkien

Synopsis: In ancient times the Rings of Power were crafted by the Elven-smiths, and Sauron, the Dark Lord, forged the One Ring, filling it with his own power so that he could rule all others. 11.The boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne

Synopsis: Nine-year-old Bruno knows nothing of the Final Solution and the Holocaust. He is oblivious to the appalling cruelties being inflicted on the people of Europe by his country. All he knows is that he has been moved from a comfortable home in Berlin to a house in a desolate area where there is nothing to do and no one to play with.
