Michael Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana, on August 29th, 1959. His life was full of poverty, riches, successes, but also sadness.
He came from a poor family. His father was a miner and his mother was a clerk in a store. Michael was the seventh of nine children. When he grew up, he got married and divorced twice and he had three children.
His family loved music, so he and his siblings formed a music band. The family musical career started with the Jackson 5 in 1972. Yet, Michael was already a star; thus, he recorded his first solo album, Off the Wall, in 1979.
He became very famous during his life and one of the best-selling artists of all time. He got 15 Grammy awards, six Brit awards, one Golden Globe award and thirty-six Guinness world records.
In the end, Michael Jackson passed away on the 25th June of 2009 in Los Angeles. He will be remembered for his dance moves, his songs but also as a philanthropist who cared about equality and people.
