Fashion in the 1990s was unique. Military-inspired styled proved to be very popular. The leader of that fashion was the iconic bomber jacket. Such a jacket wore Tom Cruise in Top Gun and Natalie Portman in Leon. Girls wore beautiful clothes like jackets, skirts, denim jackets.

Makeup of the 90s was simple and nude. Women wore two eyeshadows, one bright and one dark, usually brown colour. For the lips they used lipgloss without colour.

The 90s hairstyle was simple and carefree. It could be curly or straight, long or short, it did not matter.

The 90s was also a decade were Greek people used to pay with drachmas, not euros, and credit cards were not easy to use at that time.

What about fun? People used to go to the beach, the cinema, the theatre.

What a wonderful decade!

In the 1940s, people wore simple and stylish lothes. Women liked knee-length dresses with broad shoulders, and men preferred suits with wide lapels. Famous movies of that time, like «Casablanca» and «Gone With The Wind», starred popular actors such as Humphrey Bogart and Clark Gable. These actors were well-known and loved by many for their great acting. The movies they were in were like exciting adventures that helped people forget about tough times.

Additionally, female artists like Ingrid Bergmann and Vivien Leigh served as model icons. These women impressed with their acting skills but they also became role models for their grace and style. Their fashion choices and on-screen charisma made them admired, influening other people’s dressing.

Clothes: wide or straight skirts and long dresses were very fashionable. They casually wore wide hats or turbans that were between a hat and a bandana and their shoes had wooden soles.

People in the 1970s used to wear bell bottomed pants, frayed jeans, mini skirts, maxi dresses, tie-dye, peasant blouses and ponchos. Some accessories that people of that era used to wear are chockers, headbands, scarves and jewellery made of wood, stones, feathers and beads.

1970s Make Up

Women of that time were separated in two groups.

In the first one, women chose copper tones, nude glossy lips and bronze sun-kissed skin.

In the second one, women wore bolder colour eye shadows like blue, statement lower eye lashes and winged eyeliner.

It was a decade of wild experimentation.

Crimped Hair

Barbra Streisand is an American actress and singer is the one who made crimped hair a trend at those times.
