Tsampika Katri from Class C  wrote an excellent essay on the value of customs and traditions,based on one of the units of the book Think Teen –  3rd Grade .Here it is :

  I  believe  that local celebrations  are necessary for the society ,because they bring a balance between the  past ,the present and the future.Also,local celebrations offer the opportunity to  the people   to be reminded of their traditions and help them to keep  them and teach  their children how important customs and traditions are.

   Some local celebrations are so fun and lively and offer people a detailed snapshot of Old Times.Halloween,St Valentine’s Day and other local events are especially for children ,but also for adults and they are an unparalleled form of recreation ,with a sense of mystery that makes people get away from  the boredom  of  the everyday  reality.

   These celebrations have enormous educational value ,as much as spiritual enrichment ,because they help people to learn about  the lives of their ancestors.So,for me, the knowledge of the past leads to the knowledge of the future.
