William Shakespeare (1564-1616) was an English playwright, poet and actor. He is considered the greatest writer in the English language and often called England’s national poet. He wrote about 39 plays, some of which, are:Hamlet, Othello, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth and King Lear. His plays have been translated in many languages.
