Diego Maradona was one of the greatest football players of all time. He was born in 1960 in Argentina and showed great talent from a young age. He became world famous after leading Argentina to win the 1986 FIFA World Cup. He played for major clubs, such as FC Barcelona and SSC Napoli, where he became a legend. He died in 2020 from a heart attack.

Summer holidays are my favourite time of the year. Schools are closed, the weather is warm, and people can relax and have fun.

I like to go to the beach, swim in the sea, and spend time with my family and friends. I also enjoy travelling, playing games, and eating ice cream. Summer holidays help people rest and feel happy. They are a great opportunity to visit new places and make wonderful memories. Summer holidays are exciting and enjoyable. They give us time to relax, have fun, and enjoy the beautiful summer weather.

Η Κέρκυρα είναι ένα πανέμορφο νησί το οποίο έχει πολλά αξιοθέατα, πολλά ωραία μοναστήρια και εκκλησίες. Ένα μοναστήρι είναι η Αγία Παρασκευή η οποία έχει τέλεια θέα. Από εκκλησίες, η πιο γνωστή είναι του Αγίου Σπυρίδωνα, η οποία θυμίζει καθολική εκκλησία  αλλά δεν είναι. Κατά την διάρκεια της θείας λειτουργίας, ακούγονται οι ψάλτες και κάποιος παίζει το αρμόνιο. Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι μπορείτε να προσκυνήσετε και το σκήνωμα του Αγίου Σπυρίδωνα  και να πάρετε κομμάτι από τα παπούτσια του.

Το παλιό Φρούριο προσφέρει εκπληκτική πανοραμική θέα στο Ιόνιο πέλαγος και την πόλη. Η πλατεία Σπιανάδα είναι η μεγαλύτερη πλατεία της Ελλάδος. Δίπλα της βρίσκεται ο κοσμοπολίτικος πεζόδρομος Λιστόν με τις χαρακτηριστικές αψίδες και τις καφετέριες.  Το Κανόνι και Ποντικονήσι είναι μέρη που πρέπει να τα επισκεφτείτε  καθώς είναι τα πιο αναγνωρισμένα φωτογραφικά μέρη του νησιού. Το Αχίλλειο, το περίφημο ανάκτορο  της Αυτοκράτειρας Σίσσι που είναι γνωστό για τους εντυπωσιακούς κήπους και τα αγάλματα από την ελληνική μυθολογία. Τέλος η Παλαιοκαστρίτσα είναι διάσημοι για τα καταπράσινοι νερά της και την παραλία με βότσαλο.

Η Κέρκυρα είναι ένα νησί που σας το προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα.

Corfu: A Gem of the Ionian Sea!

Are you looking for the ultimate island destination? Look no further! Corfu is a breathtakingly beautiful island filled with amazing sights, wonderful monasteries, and historic churches. It is a place that has it all, and we are here to show you the best spots you absolutely must visit!

 Spiritual and Historic Wonders

• Agia Paraskevi Monastery: A lovely monastery that offers a truly perfect view.
• The Church of Agios Spyridon: This is the most famous church on the island. Its architecture might remind you of a Catholic church, but it is actually Orthodox! During the holy service, you can hear the beautiful voices of the chanters accompanied by the melodies of the organ. It is also worth noting that you can pay your respects to the holy relic of Saint Spyridon and even receive a small piece from his slippers as a blessing.
• The Old Fortress: If you want a stunning, panoramic view of the endless Ionian Sea and the beautiful town, this historic fortress is the place to be!

Squares, Alleys, and Famous Views

• Spianada Square: Did you know that this is the largest square in all of Greece? It’s huge and full of life!
• Liston Promenade: Located right next to Spianada, this cosmopolitan pedestrian street is famous for its characteristic arches and cozy cafes. It’s the perfect spot to relax and people-watch.
• Kanoni and Pontikonisi (Mouse Island): You cannot leave Corfu without visiting these two spots. They are officially the most iconic and photographed places on the entire island!

Palaces and Exotic Beaches

• The Achilleion Palace: The famous palace of Empress Sissi. It is globally known for its breathtaking, lush gardens and stunning statues inspired by ancient Greek mythology.
• Paleokastritsa: Last but certainly not least, this area is famous for its crystal-clear, emerald waters and its beautiful pebble beach.

Corfu is an incredible island that combines history, nature, and fun. I highly and wholeheartedly recommend that you visit it. You will absolutely love it!

My favourite artist is Daima. I like Daima because of the beautiful music and creative style. The songs are interesting and enjoyable to listen to.

Daima is very talented and works hard to create good music. The lyrics and melodies make people feel happy and excited. I often listen to Daima’s songs in my free time. I admire Daima because of the passion and dedication shown in the work. Daima is my favourite artist because of the great music, talent, and creativity. I enjoy listening to songs and I hope to hear more music in the future.

My favourite football player is Cristiano Ronaldo. He is from Portugal and he is one of the best football players in the world. He was born on February 5, 1985, in Funchal, Portugal.

Ronaldo is famous for his speed, strong shots, and many goals. During his career, he played for clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus. He has won many trophies and five Ballon d’Or awards. I admire Ronaldo because he works very hard and never gives up. He trains every day and always tries to improve. He is also the captain of the Portugal national football team and has helped his country win important competitions. Cristiano Ronaldo is my favourite football player because he is talented, hardworking, and an inspiration to many young people around the world.

Ψάχνετε τον επόμενο μαγικό προορισμό για εκδρομή; Εμείς, η ΣΤ” τάξη, σας έχουμε την καλύτερη πρόταση: την πανέμορφη και ιστορική συνοικία Ντολτσό στην Καστοριά! Επισκεφτήκαμε αυτή την παλιά περιοχή πρόσφατα και πραγματικά περάσαμε φανταστικά!

Το Ντολτσό είναι σαν ένας ζωντανός πίνακας ζωγραφικής γεμάτος με εντυπωσιακά, παλιά αρχοντικά και πανέμορφα νεοκλασικά σπίτια. Μάλιστα, μάθαμε ότι ένα από αυτά τα κτίρια έχει κερδίσει και σημαντικό βραβείο αρχιτεκτονικής!

Η εμπειρία μας εκεί ήταν μοναδική χάρη στην τέλεια ξεναγό μας. Μας παρουσίασε ένα σούπερ ενδιαφέρον, διαδραστικό πρόγραμμα: κρατώντας τάμπλετ στα χέρια, εξερευνούσαμε την περιοχή και έπρεπε κάθε φορά να απαντάμε σε μια ερώτηση-κουίζ για να προχωρήσουμε! Με αυτόν τον διασκεδαστικό τρόπο, τριγυρίσαμε στα πλακόστρωτα στενά σοκάκια και μάθαμε τόσα πολλά για την ιστορία του τόπου. Μας εξήγησαν πώς χτίζονταν τα σπίτια και καταλάβαμε αμέσως τη διαφορά ανάμεσα στα παραδοσιακά αρχοντικά και τα νεοκλασικά κτίρια.

Φυσικά, η βόλτα μας είχε και άλλες εκπλήξεις. Επισκεφτήκαμε το Λαογραφικό Μουσείο, όπου είδαμε πώς ζούσαν οι άνθρωποι τα παλιά χρόνια, και για το κλείσιμο… απολαύσαμε το πιο τέλειο παγωτό στην κεντρική πλατεία της συνοικίας!

Ήταν μια εκδρομή που θα μας μείνει αξέχαστη. Σας προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα να επισκεφτείτε το Ντολτσό και ΕΣΕΙΣ με την πρώτη ευκαιρία!

Doltso in Kastoria: A Journey Through Time by the 6th Grade!

Are you looking for your next magical field trip destination? We, the 6th grade, have the ultimate recommendation for you: the beautiful and historic neighborhood of Doltso in Kastoria! We visited this ancient district recently, and we had an absolutely fantastic time!

Doltso feels like a living painting, filled with impressive traditional mansions and beautiful neoclassical houses. In fact, we learned that one of these buildings has even won an important architectural award!

Our experience there was unique, thanks to our amazing tour guide. She set up a super interesting, interactive program for us: holding tablets in our hands, we explored the area, and each time we had to answer a quiz question to move forward! In this fun way, we wandered around the narrow cobblestone alleys and learned so much about the history of the area. We discovered how these houses were built and learned to spot the differences between the traditional mansions and the neoclassical buildings.

Of course, our walk had even more surprises. We visited the Folklore Museum, where we saw how people used to live in the old days, and to top it all off… we enjoyed the most delicious ice cream in the central square!

It was a trip we will never forget. I highly recommend that YOU visit Doltso too, at the very first opportunity!

Το Τζούντο είναι μια σύγχρονη ιαπωνική πολεμική τέχνη, Ολυμπιακό άθλημα και μέθοδος φυσικής αγωγής που ιδρύθηκε το 1882 από τον Τζίγκορο Κάνο. Η λέξη “Τζούντο” μεταφράζεται ως “ο ευγενικός δρόμος”.

Επίσης το Τζούντο είναι μια από τις πιο δημοφιλής πολεμικές τέχνες παγκοσμίως αναγνωρισμένη για τη δυναμική της και την έμφαση στην πειθαρχία. Οι βαθμοί στο Τζούντο είναι 4 ανάλογα με την ρίψη

Ippon μεγαλύτερος βαθμός, Waza-ri λίγο μικρότερος από το Ippon, Yoko μικρότερος βαθμός από Waza-ri και Koka ο μικρότερος βαθμός από όλα. Όμως για να ρίξεις κάποιον πρέπει να πιάσεις κουμικάτα που είναι το πιάσιμο και να κάνεις τεχνικές γοφού, ποδιών και άλλα.

Judo: Discovering the «Gentle Way»! ????

Have you ever wondered what it takes to combine strength, focus, and ultimate discipline? Look no further than Judo! Judo is a modern Japanese martial art, an Olympic sport, and a fantastic way of physical education. It was founded back in 1882 by Jigoro Kano, and its name actually translates to something really cool: «the gentle way». Today, it is one of the most popular martial arts in the whole world, famous for its dynamic moves and the way it teaches us to be disciplined!

But how do you actually score in a Judo match? It all comes down to the referee’s points! There are 4 different scores you can get based on your throws:

• Ippon: The ultimate, highest score! It instantly wins the match.
• Waza-ri: A great score, just a bit lower than an Ippon.
• Yoko: A smaller score than Waza-ri.
• Koka: The smallest score of all.

So, how do you manage to throw your opponent and get those points? First, you need to get your Kumikata—which is the special grip or hold on your opponent’s uniform. Once you have a good Kumikata, you can perform awesome hip techniques, clever foot sweeps, and many other moves to safely take your opponent down to the mat!

If you are looking for a sport that trains both your body and your mind, Judo might just be the perfect match for you!
