December is the month when people start their preparation for Christmas. Because of this reality, I decided to mention the way in which Christmas is celebrated in my country, Greece.

First of all, a few days before Christmas people decorate their Christmas tree. On Christmas Eve, children go to different houses and sing carols. The owners of these houses usually give them money or sweets. According to the tradition, this happens so that Christmas spirit can be sent to each house. Then, they go to their houses in order to wait for Santa Claus who usually goes to their houses when they have fallen asleep.

On Christmas Day, people get up at the crack of dawn and go to church. After this, they go to their houses to eat turkey with their families. Having eaten this food, they usually eat a kind of sweet food. This is cake for adults and chocolate Santas for kids.

To sum up, Christmas is celebrated in many countries and one of them is Greece. Greek people have their own special way to celebrate Christmas.
