What Is Earth Hour?
Earth Hour is a global initiative aimed at encouraging people to take action against climate change. The event typically takes place on the last Saturday of March, when individuals, communities, and businesses turn off non-essential lights for one hour, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM local time.

Some Facts About The Earth Hour
50 million people in 35 countries took part in the second Earth Hour. The Golden Gate Bridge and the Colosseum were some of the major landmarks that went dark for Earth Hour. Earth Hour broke all records of mass participation, becoming the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment.

All in all, Earth hour is aimed in protecting the environment by doing acts like turning off the lights the are not really needed, thus reducing the light pollution. Not only that but it is also a way to provoke people to be mindful about their actions and how it is going to affect the earth. During Earth hour many people get together and host a small event where they can trade books, clothes, games and more, in order for the meterials to be recycled by being given to someone that wants or needs them.
