Christmas In Britain
Christmas for British people is a time of joy. They celebrate Christmas on December 25th and decorate their houses with lights and a Christmas tree. They decorate the Christmas tree with balls, bells, lights and a star at the top of it and they put presents under it. On Christmas Eve, children sing carols and they wish Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. They also hang a stocking by the fireplace. They believe Santa Claus comes at night and puts presents in it. In the morning children open their presents and feel happy. On Christmas Day, families eat together. They eat roast turkey with potatoes and vegetables. They eat mince pies or Christmas pudding for dessert. They put Christmas crackers on each plate. There is a hat or a small toy in them. They sing Christmas songs and say Merry Christmas to everyone. Christmas in Britain is full of love and joy!

Let’s read two popular British Christmas songs!
British Christmas Songs
Jingle Bells
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells
Jingle all the way
Oh! what fun it is to ride
in a one horse open sleigh
Jingle bells, Jingle Bells
Jingle all the way
Oh! what fun it is to ride in a one
Horse open sleigh
Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
Over the hills we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on Bobtails ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight.

We wish you Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin,
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Now, bring us some figgy pudding,
Now, bring us some figgy pudding,
Now, bring us some figgy pudding, and bring it out here!
We won’t go until we get some,
We won’t go until we get some,
We won’t go until we get some, so bring some out here.
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Της μαθήτριας ΣΤ1 Φ.Κ.
