The educational activities were developed around three main pillars. The first pillar involved observing lessons directly in the school classrooms, including Philosophy, Foreign Languages, Ethics, History, and Geography, with a particular emphasis on inclusion, the cooperative learning method, and the integration of digital tools. The second pillar featured workshops in bibliotherapy held at the Municipal Library of Zaprešić, where through creative activities centered on guided reading as a primary tool, the teachers explored the vital role of libraries in education and social inclusion. The final pillar consisted of educational visits to two of the country’s most significant landmarks. In the city of Varaždin, the first capital of Croatia, they studied how the urban landscape can be utilized as a learning environment through a guided tour led by their Croatian colleagues, which included stops at major historical and architectural monuments. Meanwhile, at the Plitvice Lakes, a national park and UNESCO World Heritage site, the tour focused on ecosystem observation and its practical applications in environmental education.

It was a week full of experiences, actions, and activities that fostered a spirit of cooperation, enhanced cultural exchange, and laid the foundations for future partnerships.

The adventure began on Friday, May 1, with the group’s arrival in Zagreb, followed by an initial visit to the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum and a first acquaintance with the old town of Zagreb.

On Saturday, the activities moved to the Upper Town, where the students visited St. Mark’s Church and the vibrant Dolac Market. There, they launched their digital tour with a dedicated Padlet task, photographing the traditional red Šestine umbrellas and interacting with local vendors. A unique highlight was their visit to the Lotrščak Tower, where at exactly noon, they heard the traditional Grič cannon fire, before immersing themselves in the local lifestyle custom known as «Špica» in the city center.

On Sunday, a visit to the Archaeological Museum fascinated the students with exhibits such as the famous Zagreb mummy and the «Vučedol Dove,» while the use of VR glasses allowed them to explore the seabed digitally. The afternoon continued in picturesque Samobor, featuring a stroll along its canals and a tasting of the traditional Kremšnita cream cake.

Monday was dedicated to the welcoming ceremony at the Ban Josip Jelačić school and the «Roots & Wings» teambuilding workshops. The afternoon included a STEM activity involving observations at the park’s meteorological station.

On Tuesday, the Greek delegation, alongside their Belgian and Croatian partners, visited the baroque city of Varaždin. There, the students participated in a discovery game designed by the Croatian teachers, exploring the historical cemetery, the central square, and the park, while searching for elements of well-being within the urban fabric. On Wednesday, following a workshop at the Zaprešić Library, the students returned to school for regular classes, while in the afternoon they engaged in the «Nine Views» STEM planet hunt, locating planet sculptures across the streets of Zagreb using geographic coordinates.

Thursday offered a unique experience at the Plitvice Lakes, where the students hiked among 16 interconnected lakes and waterfalls, digitally recording the environmental beauty of the landscape. On Friday, the mobility reached its conclusion with the finalization of their projects on Padlet and TwinSpace. Having collaborated layout-perfectly with their European classmates and having «conquered» Croatia through digital missions and scavenger hunts, the students set off on their return journey.

The experience proved once more that Erasmus+ and eTwinning broaden horizons, create powerful bonds, and transform learning into an unforgettable digital adventure. Congratulations to all our students for their exemplary presence!

The educational mission consisted of Mr. Panagiotis Rebabis (Mathematician) and Mr. Georgios Kakarantzas (Physical Education teacher). They implemented a series of instructional interventions and educational activities with students and teachers of the host school, contributing to the exchange of best practices and the reinforcement of European cooperation in education.

During the week, Mr. Rebabis taught Mathematics through innovative activities that connected theory with the students” everyday experiences. Experiential measurement exercises were carried out on the school grounds, where students calculated areas, perimeters, and distances, applying mathematical concepts to real-world spaces. At the same time, statistics activities were implemented, involving questionnaire design, data collection, and analysis through percentages and graphs.

The mathematics instruction also extended outside the school boundaries through outdoor educational activities in the cities of Bruges, Ghent, and Brussels. There, students studied geometric features of architecture, symmetries, and proportions in historical buildings, while working with maps and spatial representations, effectively transforming the urban environment into a living laboratory of mathematical thought.

Concurrently, the Physical Education teacher, Mr. Kakarantzas, actively participated in teaching PE classes, presenting activities that link physical exercise with health, cooperation, and active student participation. The students engaged in motor skills activities, coordination and fitness exercises, as well as team actions promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

A particularly memorable highlight was the teaching of traditional Greek dances by Mr. Kakarantzas, in which students from both schools participated with great enthusiasm. Through this activity, the students were introduced to elements of Greek cultural tradition, combining physical activity with music, rhythm, and teamwork.

The week also included visits to European institutions and sites of historical interest, such as the Parlamentarium, the European Commission, and the House of European History. These visits provided the participants with the opportunity to connect learning with history, society, and European values.

The mobility concluded with an exchange of experiences between the teachers of both schools and an evaluation of the instructional practices applied. Participation in the Erasmus+ program substantially contributed to the professional development of the teachers and enhanced the European dimension of education.

The program was implemented within the framework of Erasmus+ and project 2025-1-EL01-KA121-SCH-000314386, promoting international cooperation, the exchange of pedagogical practices, and the dissemination of European educational experiences.

The significance of Erasmus+ lies in its ability to transform students into active citizens of Europe. Through their cooperation with the Otto-Wels-Grundschule, our children came into contact with a different school reality, cultivated their intercultural awareness, and developed critical skills such as foreign language communication, teamwork, and adaptability. The thematic pillars of sustainability, historical memory, and technological evolution, which were explored in Potsdam, the Holocaust Memorial, and the Futurium, provided stimuli rarely encountered within a traditional classroom environment.

An invaluable part of this journey was the active involvement of our students in project creation. Prior to the trip, the teams worked on the history and culture of their destination, while upon their return, they transformed their insights and knowledge into original material. These projects are not merely a record of memories, but proof of a deep understanding of the core values advocated by the European Union: unity, respect for diversity, and sustainable development.

The guest students participated in an organized guided tour of the center of Larissa, discovering key landmarks of the city, while also taking part in joint classes and workshops at the school. The program was enriched by two important excursions: one to the majestic Meteora, where the visitors were awed by the unique natural and religious landscape, and another to Volos, where they experienced the sea, the architecture, and the local culture.

The cooperation between the two schools developed in a wonderful atmosphere, with students exchanging experiences, perspectives, and cultural elements, creating bonds that transcend borders.

The project left everyone with a deep sense of cooperation and a shared European path, as well as a feeling of anticipation, since the Erasmus+ program continues. In the near future, a delegation from the 6th Junior High School of Larissa will visit Berlin and the Otto-Wels-Grundschule for the second part of this partnership. There, the Greek students will have the opportunity to see the German educational system firsthand, experience the city’s culture, and participate in joint activities with their peers from Germany.

The delegation consisted of two teachers and six students. This mobility was a continuation of the Erasmus+ project «R.O.B.O.T.» (Project Code: 2024-1-EL01-KA121-SCH-000200810), as well as the new ERASMUS project (Project Code: 2025-1-EL01-KA121-SCH-000314386), and took place from October 27, 2025, to October 31, 2025.

The visit aimed to exchange best practices in education, strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two schools, and introduce the guests to Greek culture and lifestyle. The visitors from Finland had the chance to see firsthand how a Greek school operates, experience the daily routine of the students, participate in classes and activities alongside the students of the 6th Junior High School, and experience the warm hospitality that characterizes the Greek people.

The exchange of experiences and views between the Greek and Finnish teachers substantially contributed to strengthening intercultural dialogue and European cooperation.

The cultural program of the visit was rich and filled with interesting moments. It included excursions to historical and cultural sites of Thessaly, such as Meteora, where the participants were deeply impressed by the breathtaking views and the history of the monasteries perched on the rocks—a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This was followed by a trip to Neoi Poroi, Pieria, where the students enjoyed the natural beauty of the region and had the opportunity to experience the Aegean Sea—a unique experience for many of them, who were traveling so far south in Europe for the first time.

The tour of the city of Larissa offered the Finnish students a more vivid picture of modern Greece. They walked through the streets of the historical center, visited the Ancient Theater, the Church of Saint Achillios, the Fortress (Frourio) Hill, the Central Square, as well as cultural and recreational venues, feeling the pulse of our city. They also visited and were guided through the Diachronic Museum of Larissa, where the guests learned about the rich cultural heritage of Thessaly from the prehistoric to the Byzantine era.

The visit concluded in an emotional and friendly atmosphere, with mutual promises to continue the cooperation and look forward to new exchanges in the future. The 6th Junior High School of Larissa proved once again that outward-looking perspectives, open-mindedness, and cooperation with European schools constitute key pillars of a modern and high-quality education.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της παραμονής τους, οι Ιταλίδες συναδέλφισσες είχαν την ευκαιρία να ενταχθούν πλήρως στον παλμό του σχολείου μας και να παρακολουθήσουν από κοντά τόσο τις διδακτικές όσο και τις οργανωτικές δραστηριότητες του ιδρύματός μας. Μέσα από την παρουσία τους στις σχολικές αίθουσες και τα εργαστήρια, μελέτησαν τις μεθοδολογίες διδασκαλίας που εφαρμόζουμε και συζήτησαν με τον δ/ντη του σχολείου κ. Παπαμαργαρίτη Βασίλειο και γνώρισαν  τον τρόπο διοίκησης και τη γενικότερη δομή λειτουργίας του ελληνικού δημόσιου σχολείου.

Παράλληλα, αναπτύχθηκε μια εξαιρετικά γόνιμη αλληλεπίδραση με το εκπαιδευτικό προσωπικό του σχολείου μας, καθώς οι προσκεκλημένες συζήτησαν εκτενώς με τους καθηγητές μας, αντάλλαξαν απόψεις για τις σύγχρονες παιδαγωγικές προκλήσεις και συνέβαλαν ενεργά στη διάχυση και το μοίρασμα των καλύτερων εκπαιδευτικών πρακτικών που εφαρμόζονται στις δύο χώρες.

Αυτή η δυναμική ανταλλαγή τεχνογνωσίας λειτούργησε αμφίδρομα,  και ενθάρρυνε την καλλιέργεια νέων μεθοδολογικών δεξιοτήτων. Το πιο σημαντικό όμως είναι ότι η συγκεκριμένη δράση ενίσχυσε σημαντικά τη διεθνή συνεργασία μεταξύ των σχολείων μας, θέτοντας στέρεες βάσεις για μελλοντικές κοινές ευρωπαϊκές συμπράξεις και επιβεβαιώνοντας τη σημασία των μετακινήσεων Erasmus+ ως καταλύτη για ένα σύγχρονο, ανοιχτό και συμπεριληπτικό σχολείο που ξεπερνά τα εθνικά σύνορα.

Ήδη στο πλαίσιο της επίσκεψης σχεδιάστηκε μελλοντική συνεργασία-πρόγραμμα e-twinning με θέμα το STEAM και τη ρομποτική, το οποίο θα υλοποιηθεί από εκπαιδευτικούς των 2 σχολείων σε συνεργασία και με το Πανεπιστήμιο του Μιλάνο, το ερχόμενο σχολικό έτος.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της πενθήμερης παραμονής τους, οι φιλοξενούμενες εκπαιδευτικοί είχαν την ευκαιρία να παρακολουθήσουν τη ζωντανή εκπαιδευτική διαδικασία και να ενημερωθούν σε βάθος για τη δομή και τη λειτουργία του ελληνικού σχολείου.

Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δόθηκε στα εξής θεματικά πεδία:

• Δομή και Ιδιαίτερα Χαρακτηριστικά: Οι Λιθουανές συναδέλφισσες ενημερώθηκαν για τη διάρθρωση της Πρωτοβάθμιας, Δευτεροβάθμιας και Τριτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης στην Ελλάδα, το σύστημα των εξετάσεων, καθώς και για το ισχύον πλαίσιο σχετικά με τη χρήση των κινητών τηλεφώνων στα σχολεία.
• Ειδική Αγωγή και Συμπερίληψη: Συζητήθηκε εκτενώς ο τρόπος λειτουργίας της παράλληλης στήριξης και των τμημάτων ένταξης, ο ρόλος των βοηθών/συνοδών για μαθητές με ειδικές εκπαιδευτικές ανάγκες, καθώς και ο μέσος όρος των μαθητών ανά τμήμα.
• Μάθηση εκτός Αίθουσας: Παρουσιάστηκε ο τρόπος με τον οποίο το ελληνικό σχολείο συνδέει τη θεωρία με την πράξη μέσα από εκπαιδευτικές επισκέψεις στη φύση, σε μουσεία και σε ιστορικούς χώρους, καθώς και η συχνότητα αυτών των εξορμήσεων.

Οι δύο καθηγήτριες περιηγήθηκαν στους χώρους και το περιβάλλον του 6ου Γυμνασίου Λάρισας, αποτυπώνοντας τις εντυπώσεις τους μέσα από φωτογραφικό υλικό. Παρακολούθησαν τακτικά μαθήματα μέσα στις τάξεις, εστιάζοντας στις σύγχρονες διδακτικές μεθόδους, αλλά κυρίως στις ζεστές, ανθρώπινες και συνεργατικές σχέσεις που αναπτύσσονται ανάμεσα στους μαθητές και τους καθηγητές μας.

Παράλληλα, δόθηκε η ευκαιρία στις φιλοξενούμενες να γνωρίσουν την ιστορία, τα αξιοθέατα και τη φιλοξενία της Λάρισας.

Η επίσκεψη αυτή ολοκληρώθηκε με τις καλύτερες εντυπώσεις, με τις εκπαιδευτικούς  να εκφράζουν τον ενθουσιασμό τους για τη θερμή υποδοχή, το υψηλό επίπεδο του εκπαιδευτικού έργου και το κλίμα συνεργασίας.

Για τη σχολική μας κοινότητα, η δράση αυτή αποτέλεσε μια ακόμη πολύτιμη ευκαιρία για την ανταλλαγή παιδαγωγικών προσεγγίσεων, την ενίσχυση των γλωσσικών δεξιοτήτων και τη δημιουργία ισχυρών δεσμών με σχολεία της Ευρώπης.

Το 6ο Γυμνάσιο Λάρισας συνεχίζει να ανοίγει ορίζοντες, προετοιμάζοντας εκπαιδευτικούς και μαθητές για έναν κόσμο συνεργασίας και αλληλεγγύης.

Η επίσκεψη πραγματοποιήθηκε με στόχο την μεταφορά γνώσεων, εμπειριών και  καλών πρακτικών από το γαλλικό εκπαιδευτικό σύστημα προς τη σχολική μας μονάδα, ενισχύοντας παράλληλα την συνεργασία και την ευρωπαϊκή διάσταση της εκπαίδευσης. Κατά τη διάρκεια της παραμονής της, η φιλοξενούμενη συμμετείχε σε εκπαιδευτικές δραστηριότητες, παρακολούθησε μαθήματα και συναντήθηκε με εκπαιδευτικούς του σχολείου.

Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δόθηκε σε θέματα καινοτόμων διδακτικών προσεγγίσεων, αξιοποίησης των ψηφιακών εργαλείων στη μαθησιακή διαδικασία, καθώς και στη σημασία της συμπερίληψης και της διαπολιτισμικής εκπαίδευσης στο σύγχρονο σχολείο. Η κ. Chenaim παρουσίασε στοιχεία του γαλλικού εκπαιδευτικού συστήματος και του τρόπου λειτουργίας μιας γαλλικής σχολικής μονάδας, μεταφέροντας πολύτιμη τεχνογνωσία και πρακτικές που εφαρμόζονται στη Γαλλία. Οι  εκπαιδευτικοί του σχολείου είχαν την ευκαιρία να συνομιλήσουν μαζί της, να ανταλλάξουν παιδαγωγικές προσεγγίσεις, να γνωρίσουν πτυχές της γαλλικής εκπαιδευτικής πραγματικότητας και να ενισχύσουν τις γλωσσικές και επικοινωνιακές τους δεξιότητες.

Παράλληλα, οργανώθηκαν πολιτιστικές και βιωματικές δράσεις που ανέδειξαν την ιστορία και τον πολιτισμό της Λάρισας . Η φιλοξενούμενη εξέφρασε τον ενθουσιασμό της για τη θερμή υποδοχή, τη φιλοξενία και το υψηλό επίπεδο συνεργασίας που διαπίστωσε στο σχολείο.

Η επίσκεψη αυτή αποτέλεσε μια πολύτιμη εμπειρία για ολόκληρη τη σχολική κοινότητα, ενισχύοντας το ευρωπαϊκό πνεύμα, τη συνεργασία και την εξωστρέφεια του 6ου Γυμνασίου Λάρισας. Μέσα από δράσεις όπως αυτή, το 6^ο Γυμνάσιο Λάρισας  συνεχίζει να επενδύει στη δημιουργία ουσιαστικών διεθνών συνεργασιών στην εξωστρέφεια  και στην καλλιέργεια δεξιοτήτων που προετοιμάζουν μαθητές και εκπαιδευτικούς για ενεργή συμμετοχή στην ευρωπαϊκή και παγκόσμια κοινότητα.
