ARISTOPHANES

ΑριστοφάνηςAristophanes was an ancient Greek play Wright and poet from the 5-th 4-th century BC.He wrote comedy plays called old comedies.

Some of Aristophanes “ most famous plays include «The Birds»Lysistrata and «The Frogs.These plays used humor and satire to poke fun at important figures and society issues of the time.

«The Birds»was about two men who travel to a city in the sky built by birds.It made fun of Athenians.

Lysistrato was about how the Athenian and spartan women tried to force their husbands to end the Peloponnesian war.It showed how women could influence.

The Frogs took place in the underworld and showed a competition between Aeschylus and Euripides,two famous Greek tragedians.It commented on political issues in Athens.

Aristophanes made the audience laugh by portraying public figures.

His plays after that have to do with subjects like war,politics,society,religion and education through the use of humor.

Aristophanes work is still relevant and fun to watch today.
