Αnimal testing also known as animal experimentation, animal research and in vivo testing, is the use of non-human animals in experiments that seek to control the variables that affect the behavior or biological system under study. This approach can be contrasted with field studies in which animals are observed in their natural environments or habitats. Some examples of applied research include testing disease treatments, breeding, defense research and toxicology, including cosmetics testing. In education, animal testing is sometimes a component of biology or psychology courses. The practice is regulated to varying degrees in different countries.
I personally disagree with this tactic because abusing the animals , even when some of these experiments are very useful and necessary .Many people agree with the fact, that if a new drug which could save human lives , is being developed then it should be tested on animals to ensure its safety .
In my opinion it is logical and natural for us to think of humans as more important than animals and with that being said I believe that its not that bad for a few animals to suffer in order to save millions of lives.
Finally its important for us to be aware under which circumstances are these test done on animals, so both sides provide alternatives and in any case the most important issue is to protect the animals.
