LIFE IN THE UK

It is easy to find good food in the UK. Lots of cheap restaurants and food markets are available. It is possible to try food from all over the world Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai and Mexican food are all very popular. Traditional British food includes fish and chips, full English breakfast, Sunday roast beef, pies, local cheese, and of course plenty of tea and cake.

The UK is home to some of the world’s top museums and art galleries, music venues and theatres. Outside the cities there is beautiful countryside and many castles, historic houses, parks and gardens.

Generally Great Britain has an Oceanic climate – because there are the warm currents of the Atlantic Ocean – with heavy rainfall all year round. The winters of Great Britain have a lot of clouds and rains with strong winds while the summers have a cool climate with minimal rainfall. Also there are a lot of snowfalls mainly in Scotland, because it is the coldest part of Great Britain.

The UK landscape includes a variety of features, such as rivers, mountains and lakes. Major rivers in the UK by length are Severn, Thames, Usk, Tpent, Great Ouse, Clayde, Speey, Tay, Clyde. Largest natural lakes in England are Windermere, Ullswater, Bassenthwaite, Lake Derwent Water, Coniston Water. Some of the highest mountains are Marilyn, Hump, Munko, Munko Top, Furth, Hewitt, Nuttall, Pewey, Donald Dewey.
