How Your Blood Type Protects and Hurts You

It is well known that blood type is considered one of the most important ‘medical files’ on doctors’ hands as it functions as the ‘key’ of the health recovery to patients that need blood from a compatible person. However, does the blood type of people only help others patients or even give a sign for the owner’s blood future health problems?

Based on medical investigations, blood type causes future diseases but it is also a way of prevention by major serious illnesses.

STATISTICS ABOUT HEALTH PROBLEMS CAUSED BY BLOOD TYPE

 1. Memory problems – AB

The study, published in the latest issue of the journal Neurology, shows that brain and vascular function are closely linked. The researchers found that people belonging to the AB blood group had an 82% higher risk of developing memory and concentration problems than people belonging to another blood group. One of the reasons for this relationship is a key protein (so-called thrombotic factor VIII), which can affect blood flow to the brain. Protein levels in the blood are highly dependent on the same blood type, the researchers note.

2. Pancreatic cancer – all except zero

People with blood type zero have a lower risk of developing pancreatic cancer, according to researchers at Yale University. The researchers found that antigens A and B help H. pylori to multiply and spread to the gastrointestinal tract. The bacterium is closely linked to pancreatic cancer. Those belonging to blood group 0 do not have antigens A and B on the surface of their red blood cells.

3. Heart disease – AB

A study conducted by researchers at Harvard University shows that people in the AB category are 23% more likely to have cardiovascular problems. Although blood type is a risk factor that we can not intervene in, we can take other precautionary measures to avoid future health problems.

4. Chronic stress – A.

People with group A are more likely to have elevated levels of the «stress hormone» (cortisol) in their body. Increased cortisol production means a faster response to stressors
