- 1 teaspoon dried thyme

- 1 cup frozen peas
For the mashed potatoes:
- 2 lbs (900g) potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender. Drain and mash them with the milk, butter, salt, and pepper until smooth. Set aside.
- Prepare the filling:
- In a large skillet, cook the minced meat over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add chopped onions, carrots, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
- Stir in the tomato paste, broth, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Add frozen peas and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Assemble and bake:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes over the top, creating an even layer.
- Use a fork to create a pattern on the mashed potatoes.
- Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
