Christmas in Romania
On the Night of 5th December, the children in Romania take their shoes out of the house. Next day, Saint Nicholaos with his elves and the shoes of the good children fill them with sweets and presents. The bad children’s shoes are filled with coal.
The carolers stop in front of every house and shout all together: «Good morning on Christmas Eve! Trick or treat!» One the most famous traditions of the period of Christmas season and the New Year’s Day is the»Plugurosul-Plugurosul». People from northern Romania perform the Christmas and New Year’s ritual and dance the «bear dance» in Bucharest on December 25
