Dear diary,
Life’s hard here in the camp, my dad is trying his best to find a job. My mom is no longer with us, she died of cancer a few weeks ago. The food here is gross but my dad forces me to eat it so I can get big and strong. He’s also trying to enroll me in a school so I can study and get smart. I am 7 years old, and life hasn’t been easy for my dad and me, but he encourages me to stay strong and educated so I can have a better life in the future.
