Crossfit: An interview with an expert

What is it?  CrossFit trainer and expert Giannis Karafilidis explains

 

A form of high intensity interval training, CrossFit  is a strength and conditioning workout that is made up of functional movement performed at a high intensity level.

These movements are actions that you perform in your day-to-day life, like squatting, pulling, pushing etc. Many workouts feature variations of squats, push-ups, and weight lifting that last for predetermined amounts of time to help build muscles. This varies from a traditional workout that may tell you how many reps to do over any period of time.

Experts note that the workouts are so effective because of their emphasis on the elements of load, distance and speed, which help participants develop high levels of power. The workout may utilize different equipment to accomplish this, including kettle bells, rowers and bikes, medicine balls, speed ropes, rings and plyo boxes. CrossFit is universally scalable and modifiable for all fitness levels, so it can be tailored to meet your goals and current fitness level.

Konstadinos Pantoulas , a cross fit trainee who  was  ranked second in the World Open 2022  scaled (14-15) is interviewing  CrossFit trainer and expert Giannis Karafilidis:

G.K.: “If I wanted to characterize CrossFit I would give it the characteristics of a teenager!!!! Passionate, it keeps me questioning everything. Intense and demanding because that is how the modern teenager is. Wise because it utilizes and improves all aspects of our fitness as the same need determines the teenager.

 

K. P.: So, what is CrossFit?

 

G. K.: It is the most complete exercise program of modern fitness. The versatility that governs it takes it out of the boring stereotypes. Every day is a new beginning and a new challenge. The effect on the body & psyche of the teenager is only positive!!!!

 

K. P. :But there is always the question: is it for everyone? Is it difficult?

 

G. K.: After 30 years in the field of fitness, I believe that there is no easier and adaptable program!! It can be adapted to all levels and to all teenagers.

It is easy,  simple and helps the teenager to understand his body,

Τo cultivate their orthosome and their well-being. CrossFit is a complete orthosomal and post-strengthening program. That’s why it should be the first choice in the way of modern youth.”
