Poland became famous for raising money for children from the Cancer Fighters foundation. The fundraising was organized by a Polish influencer, Piotr Artur Hancke, under the name ŁATWOGANG. Thanks to this action, many children can get support, better treatment, and hope for a healthier future.
It all started with a song by a popular rapper, Bedoes 2115, who recorded a diss track against cancer together with Maja from the foundation. The song became popular and inspired many people to help. Because of this, more people joined the fundraising and supported children in need.
During this fundraising, about 60 million euros were collected. Many people shaved their heads as a symbol of solidarity with children suffering from cancer. During the live stream, many popular people joined to help, and even people who were in conflict made peace with each other. Because of the huge amount of money raised, this event broke the record for the most money ever collected in a charity fundraising.
The event, followed by a sponsored ride across Poland for a boy affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy, inspired many people to join the action and take the active philanthropist as a model for the youth. It also shows the power of social media where you can trade your effort for somebody’s life.
