Shared Values in Greek Society

Ancient Greece and modern Greece share many values. One of the values that has remained the same is the importance of democracy. In both ancient and modern Greece, the idea of citizen participation in decision-making has been highly valued. Furthermore, the pursuit of knowledge and education has been a constant value throughout Greek history. The ancient Greeks valued spiritual pursuits and this habit survives to this day. Finally, the value of family remains the same, as both ancient and modern Greeks emphasize close relationships and supportive communities.
