Rumors have been spead that there is no place in Greece where beaches are like those in Halkidiki. Halkidiki is at a distance of about 60 kilometres from Thessaloniki, rendering it to  the ideal  destination for  over 25,000 locals. It is  annually swamped   by a lot of tourists , most of whom choose to relax and admire  its natural landscape  till September.

First and foremost, the region is formed by three peninsulas or “feet” in the colloquial,each with its own unique charm and  history . There is Kassandra  and  Sithonia  with green forests and  blue sea with crystal clear waters. As  far  as  the  beaches are  concerned,  the most  prominent ones are  Sani,  with  pine forests, amazing waters and  tourist facilities. Also Armenistis , with  immense sandy beaches and exotic waters, is among the greatest.  Kallithea and Hanioti are famous for their cosmopolitan tourist resorts , the best nightlife with many clubs and beach bars! Finally, Pefkohori is mostly  known  for  its  tranquillity  and  beautiful  greenery  surroundings,  making  it  also one great destination for a family offering a number of adventurous watersports.

Mount Athos forms the sacred “third foot” and  is the home to more than 20 Eastern Orthodox monasteries. Today, Greeks  refer to Mount Athos as “The Holy Mountain”.

“Athos” in Greek mythology is the name of one of the  Giants  that  challenged  the Greek  Gods  during  the  Giants’  battle.  Athos  threw  a massive rock against Poseidon, which fell in the Aegean sea and formed this mountainous end of the peninsula.

The  capital  of  Halkidiki  Poligyros,  located  quite centrally  is  in  fact  a   town situated close to  the forest and also not far from some  turquoise watered beaches .

Halkidiki  has  a  variety    of  landscapes,  which  can  satisfy  the  most  demanding  visitors.  Flavourful  areas  offering  traditional  cooking  can  be  found  in picturesque villages combined with  exciting nightlife .

To recapitulate,  Halkidiki  is  a  place where all  your senses will  be  stimulated by  its  landscapes,  fresh  waters,  tastes  and  fragrances and it  can  host  an  unforgettable summer memento!
