Christmas is celebrated on 25th in December. Greek celebrate Christmas in the tradional way. The houses and the cities are decorated while the kitchens are flooded with the smells of traditional sweets prepared by housewifes.
The Christmas tree is an international Christmas custom. The decoration of the Christmas tree is purely symbolic of people’s happiness for the Birth of Christ.
The story of goblins makes the round of Europe. It is said that during the year, these small, naughty creatures live under the earth and try to cut down the tree of the earth. When there is a little left, fearing not to be splattered, they climb to earth to tease people. Some days later, in Epiphany goblins come back and see that the tree is uncut. So they start cutting it again and Christmas arrives again and everything from the beginning.
Furthermore, carols are another custom in which children go from door to door singing and adults give them money.
All things considered, Christmas is my favorite celebration because of the Birth of Christ and for the fact that families spend more time together
