Διάκριση σε εθνικό επίπεδο για τη δημιουργία βιντεο με Περιβαλλοντικό Περιεχόμενο

 Συγχαίρουμε τους τρεις μαθητές του σχολείου μας που διακρίθηκαν για την συμμετοχή τους  στον διεθνή μαθητικό διαγωνισμό «Νέοι Δημοσιογράφοι για το Περιβάλλον» και τους ευχόμαστε καλή σταδιοδρομία!

Συγκεκριμένα, το σχολείο μας Γενικό Λύκειο Διαπολιτισμικής Εκπαίδευσης Ευόσμου  συμμετείχε στο διαγωνισμό του Παγκόσμιου Δικτύου ‘Young Reporters for the Environment’, το οποίο υποστηρίζεται από την UNESCO, το Διεθνές Ινστιτούτο Βιομηχανικής και Περιβαλλοντικής Οικονομίας (ΙΙΕΕΕ), το Ίδρυμα  της Εταιρείας Wrigley, το Διεθνές Δίκτυο Μαθητών Δημοσιογράφων, καθώς και το Ίδρυμα Περιβαλλοντικής Εκπαίδευσης (FEE). Σχετικά με το βραβευμένο  άρθρο, θέμα του ήταν οι αστικές καλλιέργειες, οι οποίες τα τελευταία χρόνια παρουσιάζουν ανάπτυξη στη χώρα μας και ιδιαίτερα στο νομό Θεσσαλονίκης. Τίτλος του: “Community Gardens: a solution for a healthy and profitable life-style”. Όσον αφορά το βίντεο που διακρίθηκε ως ένα από τα καλύτερα σε εθνικό επίπεδο, οι μαθητές  Προδρομίδου Μαρία και Κελεσίδης Στάθης της Α Λυκείου  με υπεύθυνη καθηγήτρια την κ. Καρασούλη Ασπασίας, (ΠΕ 06) παρουσίασαν την εικόνα της Θεσσαλονίκης μέσα από τα μάτια των νέων που τη ζουν και τη διαμορφώνουν με τις επιλογές τους.  Beauty has no limits, it’s like a flower which in order to blossom and to show its colors and its smell it needs care. Likewise, the urban environment needs care so as to offer us a better quality of life. Our urban environment is in transition, cities are getting bigger and at the same time it is of imperative importance the need to think green and be more environmentally aware.  We, as young citizens of Thessaloniki, realize that there are many environmental problems but there are always solutions if we want to help our city. So, if there is willingness and if there is volunteering the task of trying for a less polluted city will be easier and the people and all the tourists will be happier. In every city there is a secret beauty, every city has its own pros and cons. Thessaloniki suffers from its lack of a modern infrastructure as far as the means of transport are concerned. The fact that under the surface of the city there are still a lot of ancient monuments does not facilitate the construction of a modern subway system so as to reduce the air pollution. Another problem in Thessaloniki is the limited number of parks so there is not enough open space for citizens to relax and to breath fresh air and as a result our health can be negatively affected. However, we, as young people, are adopting new practices that are environmentally friendly such as the use of bicycles which is constantly increasing and this makes our city a better place to live and even to visit. Recycling, using alternative forms of energy, taking part in environmental campaigns and showing respect to the cultural heritage of our city are ways of working towards a sustainable future in our city. As H. D. Thoreau once said ‘’Heaven is under our feet as well as over our head’’.
